History

The foundation of TechOne Centre began in 1991 when it’s founder CV Rao left a corporate career to pursue his dream of entrepreneurship. He formed C.V. Rao Consultants, a DBA. He provided technical consulting services to graphic design firms, print shops, and in-house advertising departments who were migrating to electronic publishing using Apple computers. Mr. Rao’s background in engineering and experience in graphic arts made a perfect mix to provide high-value technical services to this industry.

In 2002, the company decided to expand. The company then conducted business as ResourceMac. ResourceMac began offering its services to a broader market – all businesses using Apple and switching to Apple. ResourceMac starting selling Apple products and offering repair services.

In late 2007, ResourceMac changed its name to MacAmerica Professional Services. During this time MacAmerica became an Apple Professional Services Provider and an Apple Authorized Training Center and began serving the K-12 education market.

In 2013, MacAmerica became TechOne Centre and opened the first Apple Retail and Business Solutions Centre in downtown Houston, to serve the business and education markets even better. Located in the tunnel mall of downtown Houston, TechOne Centre is within easy reach of 168,000 business professionals within a 10-minute walking distance. This location is also easily accessible, by METRO rail service, from Texas Medical Center with 49 healthcare related institutions, Rice University, and University of Houston – Downtown campus.

TechOne Centre continues to grow and evolve to serve it’s customers better. It’s current downtown Houston location is a best-in-class facility with retail, professional services, training, repair, and support, all at one convenient location. It is staffed by highly qualified professionals who know how to serve the needs of business and education customers.
